To determine your size simply measure from your hipbone to the top of your foot or approximately 5 cm above the floor in standing position. This is equivalent to the distance between the bottom of the obi/belt and the bottom of the Hakama. It is always a good idea to consult the trainers from your aikido dojo on how to properly tie a hakama if you have never owned one before. There are many different methods of tying and they may affect the length in various ways.
The Hakama is to be washed in 40 degrees celcius tops, as it is made from synthetic fibres. It does not shrink.
