Budo Nord Kata Five Stars Premier League Karate Uniform

A premium karate uniform for discerning karateka. This version features Premier League embroidery. The fabric is a tightly woven canvas made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester, weighing approximately 350 g/m². It provides structure and shape while offering excellent comfort. The fabric feels exceptionally pleasant against the skin – something you will appreciate if you wear your uniform for many hours each week. Compared with previous kata fabrics, this one is slightly lighter and more breathable.

The fabric is pre-shrunk, with shrinkage of approximately 1% when washed at 60°C. When hung to dry, the uniform is almost wrinkle-free and ready to wear again. The jacket has a slightly longer cut and substantial reinforcements at the sleeve cuffs and hem. The trousers have a high waist and double drawstring fastening, wide legs and strong reinforcements at the leg openings. The leg length is designed to end approximately at the ankle when standing upright. The uniform is available in two fits: Regular Fit and Slim Fit. Slim Fit is intended for people with a slender build and/or an athletic but not heavily muscular physique. Regular Fit has a slightly roomier cut around the body and hips.

The uniform is WKF-approved for competition and complies with WKF kata regulations.

Budo-Nord Kata – a legend in Swedish karate. Budo-Nord Kata has been on the market since the early 1980s. Development began in the early 1970s, when uniforms imported by Budomateriel AB under Asian brands generated numerous customer complaints. Budo-Nord moved production of its premium uniforms to Värmland, Sweden, raising the standard of materials and workmanship. For a time, the uniforms were exported to several European countries. Towards the end of the 1980s, production moved to a quality-focused factory in Taiwan. This is where “brushed canvas” was developed: a heavy cotton canvas with a brushed, soft surface. Brushed canvas became a major success and has since been copied by many others. Budo-Nord Kata has been the Swedish national team uniform for almost every year since the 1980s. It has also served as the national team uniform in Denmark and Norway for many years.
